The Graston Technique is a specific form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) developed more than 20 years ago through extensive research.
It is a soft-tissue release technique that uses six patented stainless steel instruments of different shapes and sizes to fit your body as needed. We use the instruments to detect and treat scar tissue and fascia restrictions. These restrictions may contribute to your symptoms and limit your activities of daily living.
The treatment goal and process of the Graston Technique is to first “break up” these adhesions by breaking down the collagen cross-links that have been formed and then to realign them with proper stretching and strengthening. We use the Graston Technique on muscles, tendons and ligaments, and on a wide variety of acute and chronic conditions.
